Support Anne Frank Tree Foundation
The Support Anne Frank Tree Foundation aims:
- to prevent the tree from being prematurely and needlessly cut;
- to guarantee proper care for the preserved tree in future.
In November 2006 the Borough Amsterdam Center announced the Anne Frank tree would be cut. A group of local residents, experts and the
national tree foundation
got together and fought for the preservation of the tree. The Support Anne Frank Tree Foundation was founded to keep this struggle going on, so the tree could be saved and cared for efficiently in years to come.
In April 2008 the foundation built a construction to ensure the safety of the tree and its surroundings. A team of tree experts took further measures to ensure safety and to treat some illments. These were the most important demands of the Bourough of Amsterdam Center, the Anne Frank Foundation and the owner of the tree, in order to agree upon preservation of the tree. And therefor the tree is saved from being prematurely and needlessly cut.
The major part of the construction & preservation costs were sponsored by the building contractors and treespecialists. We are very greatfull for their contribution.
However, there is still a large amount of money needed to pay the bills. We would like to invite you to make a contribution.
